Accounts & Payroll Officer

Our rapidly growing company is looking for an experienced Accounts & Payroll Officer to join the Finance team on a full-time basis, with immediate effect.

The succesful Accounts & Payroll Officer will be keen to join a growing company with a family ethos and will have relevant experience, although there is the opportunity for training for candidates without experience who have the right attitude. 

Your roles and responsibilities will be to:

  • Collect daily, weekly or monthly timesheets;
  • Prepare employees’ compensation by the end of each month using payroll software;
  • Schedule bank payments or hand out paychecks directly to employees;
  • Distribute payslips;
  • Enter new employees’ data (e.g. bank accounts and tax identification numbers) into internal databases;
  • Handle accounts payable and receivable;
  • Check invoices for inaccuracies;
  • Reconcile accounts with the general ledger;
  • Contact clients about invoices that are past duties;
  • Assist with any employee or client queries.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Achieved 3 ACCA modules or similar;
  • Minimum of 2 years experience within a similiar position;
  • Excellent communication skills in Maltese & English;
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills;
  • Good working knowledge of Accounting & / Payroll software;
  • Ability to identify and improve upon existing processes;
  • Excellent numerical and interpersonal skills;
  • Meticulous attention to detail and time management.
